STATUS OF
INDUSTRIALISATION IN HIMACHAL PRADESH
1.During the last three years, the industrialization in
the State of
H.P.
has made significant
progress. The
share of industries and services sectors respectively has
increased from 1.1 & 5.9 percent in 1950-51 to 15.9 &
17.3 percent during 2004-05. The rich natural resources of our
State are ideally suited for investment in three major sectors
namely Industries, Hydroelectric power & Tourism. The
grant of Special Package of Incentives by the Central Govt.
has acted as a catalyst in boosting industrial development in
the State.
Today,
we have about 32,830 Small Scale and 327 Medium & Large
Scale units with an investment of about Rs. 4325.79 crores
generating employment for about 187589 persons.
2. Approval
of new Industries:-
Since
the notification of Special Incentive Package for the State of
H.P. by the Government of India, 7383 industrial investment
proposals have
provisionally been registered/approved in SSI &
Medium & Large scale sectors in the State with an
investment of about Rs. 19280.83 crores envisaging employment
to about 267875 persons till 12-7-2006.
State Level
Single Window Clearance & Monitoring Authority:-
The
Government has simplified procedures for the approval of medium/large
scale industrial projects. In order to ensure expeditious
clearances from the respective Departments for the setting up
of new units, a State Level Single Window Clearance and
Monitoring Authority under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble chief
Minister has been constituted to clear projects and ensure
speedy approval from various Departments or Agencies. The
Committee has so far held 22 meetings and cleared 575 projects
with an investment of Rs. 11781 crores and employment
potential to about 83453 persons.
